Preview: JUST SOPH at St Mary’s – A Creative Space

Have you ever wondered how the Camel got his hump? Or how the Elephant got his trunk? Or what the Crocodile eats for lunch?

‘Just Soph’, a brand new storytelling adventure adapted from Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Just So Stories’, will be coming to St Mary’s, A Creative Space in the Christmas Holidays.

With original live music, puppetry and physical theatre, join our storyteller Soph alongside a host of curious characters on a very special journey this Friday 30th December.

‘Just Soph’ is entertaining, interactive and created especially for curious children and their best beloveds. All ages are welcome at this fun, family friendly event!

Performed by Sophia Hatfield, directed by Bryn Holding and designed by Sophia Lovell Smith; ‘Just Soph’ is developed with support from Chester’s much-loved Theatre in the Quarter, as well as the New Vic Theatre.

Funded by Arts Council England and Manchester Libraries and also developed to support and encourage fun family reading it’s sure to inspire little ones to explore stories at home and provide wonderful festive memories that can be re-enacted at home.

Performer and writer Sophia Hatfield played ‘The Queen Of Hearts’ in Theatre in The Quarter’s acclaimed 2015 Christmas production ‘Alice’ and is absolutely thrilled to working alongside the TITQ team again at the beautiful St Mary’s Centre.

Sophia also performed as ‘Kestrel’ in the New Vic’s acclaimed 2016 production of Robin Hood and is delighted to be working once more with the wonderful education team in creating this brand new now for families with younger children.
